Though it gets a bad rap sometimes, St. Louis, Missouri is a wonderful city full of diversity, culture, adventure, arts, and great food! It is also full of resilient individuals who sometimes need some extra support and accountability to cope with life's stressors.
We would like to help you find a knowledgeable and compassionate therapist that fits your needs!
I founded Healing Spaces to be a safe, healing space for individuals, particularly those from traditionally marginalized and underrepresented populations. We want to help you seek healing, hope, and relief, and one way of doing this is through the use of psychotherapy (or most commonly known as therapy).
Therapy is not simply talking about your problems, though, yes, that is a part of it. Therapy, however, uses researched-based tools and strategies (such as challenging negative beliefs and identifying coping skills), to help promote change, wellness, and growth.
So, how is it helpful?
Therapy can help you learn new ways to cope with strong emotions.
Therapy can you learn more about your patterns of thinking, and help to change how you perceive yourself and the world around you.
Therapy can help you learn more about yourself and the reasons why you may behave a certain way.
Therapy can teach you new skills, such as teaching you to communicate better with your partner, family members, and even yourself.
And the list goes on and on...
One of the reasons therapy works so well, is because of the relationship between the therapist and the client (you)! So, you want to find someone who is a good "fit" for you. Think about what is important to you, so that you can feel open and be honest in the therapy room. Some things to keep in mind are the therapists' personality, specialty area, background and values, and the methods in which they treat your difficulties.
St. Louis is awesome because the city and its surrounding communities are full of wonderful therapists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health workers. So, finding a therapist that fits YOU and your needs is important!
At Healing Spaces, all our clinicians are competent, inclusive, genuine, and trauma-informed. While each of our clinicians also has their unique personalities and focus areas, we all typically focus on three areas: anxiety, parenting and families, and trauma. In addition, as women of color, our clients often include Black and Middle Eastern individuals.
If you would like to set up a FREE 15-minute consultation appointment, where you can learn more about who we are and how we can serve you, please give us a call at (314) 472- 3091.
